A LOCAL author who self-funded his first book, Corsham Revealed, is already working on a follow up.

Local historian Giuliano (Julian) Carosi, 66, of Williams Close, Corsham, invested £5,000 of his own money to publish the book, which was printed by Corsham Print Ltd.

Julian said: “My interest in the history of Corsham began after winning the Know Your Corsham competition in 1979.

“Since then, I have been gathering facts and stories for many years and discovering the many hidden places during my love of walking in and around Corsham.”

His book is dedicated to all those “poor souls” who died during the building of the GWR railway tunnel from Corsham to Box.

The story of the tunnel and how many people died during its construction is contained in the 232-page book.

Around 700 copies have been printed, which are available at Corsham bookshop in the High Street, and online, priced at £14.99.
