VILLAGE cricketers who raised £56,000 for charity when they were on target with a clay pigeon shoot have handed over part of the cash to Dorothy House hospice in Winsley.
Ed Davies and Edward Giles from Bishops Cannings Cricket Club presented £4,000 of the profit to Yvonne Brunton from the charity.
Mr Davies said: "Dorothy House does an amazing job supporting not just people who are ill but whole families. We are very pleased to be able to make a donation to them that will help with their incredible work."
Money from the shoot, held at Wellington Barn, has also gone to Julia's House, Devizes Opportunity Centre, Wiltshire Air Ambulance, and Ataxia.
The event held in June attracted 39 teams to compete in a range of shooting tests. A dinner and auction was held after the shoot
