BEAUTICIAN Agnieszka Gajny knew she was taking a gamble when she decided to stop working from home and open her first shop in Devizes.

Ms Gajny, 34, who has four young children, has opened Beautify Studio in Monday Market Street and is working six days a week in a bid to make her business a success.

She said: “I am very busy juggling home and work life. I know the first year of any new business is tough but I hope to make it a success and to gradually build up the number of clients I have.

“I think I offer something different to most of the other beauty parlours in Devizes as as well as all the usual treatments I am trained in a lot of advanced techniques for the skin, which can make a real difference to its appearance, and also offer specialist products from Poland that are very effective.”

Ms Gajny, who grew up in Poland, moved to Devizes in 2005. She said that when she was a young girl she loved nail varnish and painting nails and always knew she wanted to work in the beauty business.

She said that brow treatments were some of the most popular she offered and include microblading, which is a semi-permanent technique to create a fuller look.

Ms Gajny said: “I have done a lot of training for permanent make-up and people should make sure they go to someone who has the certificates for this sort of work.”

Nails remain a speciality for her and she offers full pedicure and manicures.

Ms Gajny, who opened her shop in August, said: “When I was working from home my clients told me I should open a shop. But it isn’t easy. Some days I am very busy but other days are quiet.

“I am hoping the build-up to Christmas will boost business. I am offering gift vouchers and selling products.”
