POLICE want to hear from anyone with dash cams fitted to their vehicles as part of investigation into a parcel being over the wire into Erlestoke Prison.

Yesterday at about 3pm a man wearing a black hoodie and trousers was spotted running up to the prison fence and throwing a small white parcel over the top.

Det Con Cerys Powell said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time who may have witnessed the incident, or anyone who was driving in the area and may have a dash cam fitted to their vehicle which could have footage of the suspect - this would be really useful to our investigation.

"The package was retrieved by staff and sent for forensic analysis. Our enquiries remain ongoing."

After throwing the parcel into the prison grounds the man ran away and is believed to have dodged across the road between vehicles.

Anyone who can help should call police on 101 and quote crime reference number 54180103590.
