A CHIPPENHAM school had a sunny glow about it when pupils and teachers wore yellow to mark World Mental Health Day.

Hardenhuish youngsters and staff accessorised their clothes by wearing yellow scarves, socks, coats, hair accessories, belts and badges.

The Hello Yellow campaign was organised by the Young Minds charity to raise awareness that global mental health education, is a key part of the fight against the social stigma often associated with mental health.

By wearing yellow, Hardenhuish School’s pupils and staff were showing that they don’t hide their mental health and that they support each other.

Assistant head Jo Glossop said: “Statistics show that more children and young people than ever before are seeking help with their mental health, but there is still work to be done to ensure every pupil knows how to find the support they need.” All year groups were reminded about ways to think about practical ways to stay healthy.
