GOLFERS from Oaksey Park Golf Club, near Malmesbury, have finished handing over the impressive £3,600 raised at the Captains Day in September to their chosen charities.
“It was a really good day and I was pleased to do so well,” Captain Dean Hammersley said. “As well as the golf we had an auction and raffle with excellent lots and prizes.”
Mr Hammersley and ladies captain Sandra Lee have now presented the final cheque, £2,000 to Wiltshire Air Ambulance, having already given cheques to two Riding the for Disabled groups.
Mr Hammersley, of Minety, said he was delighted to have raised so much money for charities which help people from across the county.
On the Captains Day 60 players enjoyed a Texas Scramble played in fine weather, with the winning team being Fore Right and the runners-up Dude Where’s My Par.
Nearest the Pin was won by Sandra Lee and Straightest Drive by Phil Reynolds.
Over 20 lots went under the hammer at auction and 80 prizes were up for grabs in the raffle.
