RESIDENTS at the Fairways care home in Chippenham have been enjoying trying out a new magic table which is designed for residents living with dementia.
The home’s new Tovertafel is an interactive experience for people suffering with the late stages of dementia.
It is a small box which can be mounted onto a ceiling or a table which projects light, senses movement and creates sounds to allow people to engage in various games and activities.
Residents of the home have been playing various games using the new Tovertafel, including playing with the lights which responds to hand and arm movements including games based on butterflies, flowers and bubbles.
Community Co-ordinator at the Fairways, Mary Kid said: “The magic table creates moments of happiness for people living with dementia and all those around them.
“All our residents had lots of fun joining in playing the games.”
