SENIORS in Chippenham have been making the most out of their local gym and are using new technology to try and reverse the ageing process.

Members of Inspire Fitness are using the technology behind the new eGym strength circuit with personalised workouts to ensure that they’re training with the right intensity to rebuild their muscle strength without risk of injury.

The new technology allows them to measure and record their strength gains every 6 workouts so that they can see their improvements.

Owner and coach Ruth Green said: “Having seen the devastating effect frailty and the fear of falling can have on a person in my own family I’m really passionate about helping people stay strong and independent for as long as possible.

"We’re all going to get older but we do have some control over how quickly and our quality of life as we do.

"Studies have shown it’s possible to achieve muscle growth well into the 90s and this is being proved by Ingrid Campbell, who loves the new technology and is still working out at the wonderful age of 94. "
