ONE of Corsham’s much-loved retailers has been laid to rest in the town.

More than 150 people attended the funeral of Mrs Ann Coppin at St Bartholomew’s Church in Corsham last Wednesday afternoon (October 10).

Mrs Coppin, 70, was the wife of John Coppin, who owns Coppins jewellers in Corsham High Street.

She died on September 27 at the Dorothy House Hospice in Winsley.

She leaves behind her husband and four children, Stephanie, Darren, Oliver and Daisy.

The family turned out in vintage Riley classic cars for the funeral.

Mrs Coppin was laid to rest in a seagrass wicker coffin at the Ladbrook Lane Cemetery in Corsham.

As the cortege passed the Coppins shop it stopped briefly.

Staff had laid a garland of flowers outside the shop.

Daisy Coppin said: “It was wonderful to see so many people there to pay their respects. We were really touched.”
