THE family of former Trowbridge RFC head coach and Bath and England forward Steve Ojomoh have delivered a positive update on his health with the 48-year-old recovering in hospital after a stroke.

Ojomoh, who picked up 12 England caps between 1994-1998, is being cared for at Bristol's Southmead Hospital.

A message issued by his wife Lisa said: "Oj would like to say thank you for all your support.

"He is literally overwhelmed by the 'human kindness' he is feeling.

"Although he is still in ICU he is progressing everyday and sends his love to everyone.''

Ojomoh also led Trowbridge to National Intermediate Cup glory Twickenham in 2014 during a successful four-season stint in charge of the club, which also saw them move from their base at Green Lane to their current Doric Park home.

Ojomoh represented Bath through the 1990s.

Trowbridge RFC had posted their thoughts on their website, and wished him well for his recovery.

"Trowbridge RFC has received news that VP and former head coach Steve Ojomoh has been taken ill suddenly," it said.

"Everyone from the club sends Steve and his family our very best wishes for a speedy recovery."
