MELKSHAM are safely inside the Dorset & Wilts One North top six after defeating Trowbridge 2nd 24-14.

Trowbridge got off the mark with a converted try after 10 minutes but Melksham responded as Luke Cador powered over and scrum-half Callum Hurn converted.

Although Trowbridge scored again, Hurn's tap and go penalty then set up the scoring pass to wing Matt Van Den Boogaard for Melksham's second.

The home team took the lead in the second half with accurate passing finding centre Callum Gillard for his first of the season.

Then Hurn made a break from the ruck, going between two defenders and offloading to the charging Brad Wilkins for the bonus point try, Hurn adding the extras.

Warminster emphatically bounced back from their first defeat of the season as they put Supermarine to the sword 48-10.

Having suffered a high-scoring defeat to Royal Wootton Bassett 2nd the previous week, the amber and blues were quickly out of the blocks and centre Dan McIntyre broke through tackles to eventually go under the posts, Jason Sprangle adding the extras.

However, Marine responded with a kick to the corner, followed by a catch and drive to the line before Warminster took control.

Dean Priestman took advantage of a break from second row Dan Bowman to take the offload and dive over the line, Sprangle adding the extras before another try followed as Bowman passed to speedster Ross Williams, who stepped past the Marine side to add a superb individual score.

Sprangle converted and the bonus-point score arrived when centre McIntyre was put through a gap from a delayed pass from fly-half Jimmy Rees to go under the posts.

Lachlan Stuart got in on the action with a fine individual try and Warminster would score two more before half-time, with Preistman touching down for his second and full-back Tom Evans finishing off a good attacking move.

Marine added their second try after the break, but Warminster has the final word with full-back Evans scoring his second try after a loose clearance kick from the visitors.

Captain Rees said: "We were very good in the first half, making good decisions and playing an expansive game.

"But the second half we just switched off allowing Supermarine to play which we were very disappointed about.''
