Four people have been arrested by Gloucestershire Police following a report of a theft from a mobile phone shop in Marlborough.

At 11.30am, a group of men entered Vodafone in the High Street and three mobile phones were ripped from the display stand.

Information relating to a vehicle the group were believed to be travelling in was shared, and the vehicle was spotted on the A419 travelling into Cirencester.

CCTV images of the group were also shared with all branches by the store manager in Marlborough and a group matching their description was later spotted entering the Cirencester store.

Officers from Gloucestershire Constabulary, who had been made aware of the incident, later located and arrested four people in the town centre.

Three teenage boys, aged 15, 16 and 17, all from Slough, were arrested on suspicion of theft.

A 21-year-old man from Plumstead was also arrested on suspicion of theft from a shop and possession of a class B drug.

All were conveyed to Gablecross custody in Swindon and have since been released on bail while enquiries continue.
