POLICE are looking to speak to anyone with information on an assault which took place in Devizes.
Between 12.20am and 12.30am on September 29, a 33-year-old woman was walking down London Road when she turned to walk down the alleyway by the bus stop.
As she walked down this alleyway, she was approached by a group of youths. One of these youths assaulted her, causing a black eye.
PC Amy Quintin said: “It is believed there were approximately six to 10 youths in the alleyway at the time and they ran off in the direction of London Road following the assault.
“Understandably this was a frightening experience for the victim and we take reports of this nature very seriously. We are really keen to hear from anyone who was either in the area at the time and witnessed the assault, or anyone who may have seen the group of youths prior to, or after the incident, and can help us identify them.”
Anyone with information should call police on 101 and quote crime reference number 54180091992.
