James Amor

James Amor, 79, formerly of Wootton Bassett, where his family was well known, spent his early years in The Rosary, with his parents and sister Rosalind.

He was a bellringer at St Bartholomew's Church and was educated at the former National School (St Bartholomew's) in Station Road and Bentley Grammar School, Calne.

Mr Amor served for 12 years in the RAF. He was a keen footballer who played for Wootton Bassett Colts.

He was married as a young man, but sadly the relationship did not last. He leaves two sons, Fred and Steven, daughter Alison, and four grandchildren.

His final years were spent on a canal boat.

The funeral will take place at Banbury Crematorium on October 11 at 3pm.
