AN intrepid pair of friends from Devizes have raised money for two charities by completing the Thames Path Challenge.

Teacher Will Ruscoe, 38, and Pete Nelson, 55, walked non stop from Putney to Henley in Buckinghamshire.

Mr Ruscoe, who is assistant head at John Bentley School, Calne, said: "We covered the 100km distance in 22 hours and 30 minutes.I am raising money for Amnesty International and Peter for Julia's House children's hospice.

"In 2016 we completed the Isle of Wight Challenge for charity."

Two years ago the men walked 106kms in 26 hours and said it was one of the toughest things they had ever done. But they were not put off by the arduous walk and last weekend they were back in their walking boots for the hike along the river from London to leafy Henley.

They raised thousands of pounds for charity last time and are hoping to repeat that again this year.
