FORMER Devizes schoolgirl Katie Sims whose painting of a Wiltshire air ambulance helped her raise hundreds of pounds for the charity has now donated the artwork to go on display at Semington.

Miss Sims, 21, who has a degree in fine art, is a volunteer fundraisers for Wiltshire Air Ambulance and is delighted her picture will hang at the charity’s new base.

She said: “ I worked on the painting for a number of months and was really pleased with the finished piece. It will be great to finally see it hanging in the new airbase. The staff have been so supportive of this project and I am so happy that they want my work on display.”

Her boyfriend James Godwin is also a fundraiser for the charity and he joined her in The Brittox, Devizes, last summer to help raise cash while she painted and collected £658.

The pair handed her finished canvas over to Kevin Reed head of facilities and security and Cas Loudon the charity’s donor relationship coordinator. The painting will hang either in reception or the visitor centre.
