THE sunny weather returned for the Dog Show event which went down in the villages history whilst fundraising for third world countries.

The Great Bedwyn’s Dog Show fundraiser, September 1, was a weekend to remember as over 100 people turn up to show their support and enter the competitive spirit of the event. The dog show was in aid of raising money for Raleigh International, an organisation that helps youth groups visit third and even first world countries have access to basic necessities such as clean water. It was also supported by Brown Dog Financial Planning Services.

The event organisers daughter, Lexi Fellows, 18, is going to Costa Rica for seven to twelve weeks in aid of assisting the organisation. Event organiser, Susan Fellows, said: “It will be great, she will go off with people all over the world to help those less fortunate”.

The event held 10 courses for the dogs as they showed off their agility skills, and less popularly showed off their fetching skills. Each course was enjoyed by those taking part as well as those who came to watch, all paying a small entry fee towards the fundraising total. Succeeding their target, the event raised £482 which will go directly to the cause of helping those in poor living conditions.

Susan added: “The event was a tremendous success, its been a really positive response since and I have had many people asking if we would host it again next year, which we hopefully might”.
