AN information board which displays historic information about the village of Upavon has been put up as part of a new project to create more than 40 information boards between Devizes and Great Bedwyn.

The sign includes a map labelled with notable points of the village as well as historic landmarks through the ages.

Susie Brew, who helped manage the project along with residents Sylvia Clayden and Mark Dawson, said: “This could not have been achieved without the collaboration and enthusiasm from archaeologists, history groups, visitor centres, parish councils, farmers, photographers, publicans, GWR and last but not least, Pewsey Co-op who provided the funding, in association with Pewsey Heritage Centre.

“We very much hope locals and visitors to the Vale will enjoy the sense of place the information on the boards bring, located at more than 40 sites between Devizes and Great Bedwyn.

“Many thanks to all who have contributed.”
