A GROUP of 16 villagers will be getting their walking boots on as they trek for 25km along the Grafton Parish boundary next month to raise money for the Brighter Futures Radiotherapy Appeal.
Setting off from the Windmill at 9am, the group will walk through steep downs, lanes and canal paths.
Susie Brew who helped organise the walk said: “We were a little worried about the route at first, as it isn’t all footpaths, so we did a few practise runs. In one of our practises we got very rained on and very lost!
“Now we think we have the route sorted and have spoken to farmers who have agreed the route, as we are walking in some places that people couldn’t usually walk.”
The charity, Brighter Futures Radiotherapy Appeal aims to bring a new radiotherapy satellite centre to the Great Western Hospital in Swindon for those in need of treatment.
