AN old phone box in centre of the village of Upavon has been transformed into a tourist information kiosk, and is the third in the vale of Pewsey so far.

Upavon Parish Council and the Pewsey Vale Tourism Partnership have been working together on this project and several others to support tourism in Pewsey Vale.

Susie Brew, coordinator of Pewsey Vale Tourism Partnership said: “This is just one of the projects that the Partnership is undertaking to enhance the infrastructure and support the visitor economy in the Vale of Pewsey.

“Working collaboratively with Parish Councils and other organisations, we already have Tourist Information Kiosks at Swan Corner in Pewsey, in Bottlesford and in Cossor’s Shop in Pewsey, and there are more in the pipeline in villages such as Bedwyn, Burbage and Woodborough.

“Through our relationship with GWR, we also provide information in the waiting rooms at Pewsey Station.

“One of the benefits of being a member of the Partnership is that you can advertise your business in any of these locations.”
