A SKATING shop from Swindon is running a series of skate session this summer for children and teenagers in Calne.
ATB Shop has been running free skating sessions at the Calne Skate Bowl on Station Road for five to 16-year-olds.
The three-hour sessions involve coaching, demonstrations and competitions with prizes which range from sweets to a skateboard.
Three have already been held, and were hailed as a success.
Cllr John Boaler, said: “There have been about 50 youngsters at each of them.“They have been practising and learning new skills for their skateboards and scooters, and have loved the competitions."
“There has been a great atmosphere and participants have all got on really well together.”
Julie Bielby, GreenSquare's community involvement manager who are funding the events, said: "We are pleased to support the summer skate events, which are always a popular summer holiday activity. "The ATBShop staff and crew do a great job running the coaching sessions, which are inclusive and fun, and all the young people who attend really enjoy themselves."
The next session is at 2pm on September 15, booking not required.
