Seventeen pupils from Japan along with their school teachers were welcomed to Marlborough for a week of educational activities.

Organised by local group Learning Journeys, the teenagers were taken on day trips to Salisbury, Stonehenge, London and Bristol and stayed with local homestay families.

They had the honour of meeting Madam Mayor Lisa Farrell and Town Crier, Mr. Mike Tupman, and you can now see their names written in Japanese in the Town Hall office.

Patrick Jackson, managing director and founder of Learning Journeys said: "The boys stayed in local homestays who supported their time here.

"They were delighted with the boys’ level of English and polite manners.

"Learning Journeys are always looking for homestay families who would like to get involved.

"We look forward to welcoming the boys again next year!"
