A PUB in Chippenham had cause for a double celebration last month.

Staff and punters at The Three Crowns pub on The Causeway marked the 3,000th day of trading since landlord Steve Jenner bought the pub in 2010, and its 11th award in eight years from CAMRA - the Campaign For Real Ale.

They were presented with the Highly Commended Award for 2018 by the chairman of the North West Wiltshire CAMRA, Shaun Wilkins, on July 18.

It was crowned Local Pub of the Year in 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017.

Mr Jenner said: “We are delighted that so many locals came to celebrate our 3,000-day anniversary.

“As a small, independent pub and local business, we would not be here without their support and we really value the strong sense of community they bring.

“We are also delighted to receive our latest award and recognition from CAMRA. I knew that the pub couldn’t be entered this year for ‘Pub of the Year’ as CAMRA rules clearly state that a pub cannot win more than two consecutive years in a row.

“We were also delighted to hear that the Three Crowns won the popular vote in our area for the Good Beer Guide 2018.”
