YEAR 11 pupils from John Bentley School in Calne made sure they dressed to impress with their lavish gowns and smart three-piece suits for their prom.

The end of year party at Bowood House celebrated the end of a tough exam season for the pupils who were very deserving of a celebration last month.

Students pulled up to the picturesque Georgian country house in classic cars, and Lamborghini's, Harley Davidsons and tractors and army jeeps.

The evening was organised by a group of year 11 students who raised over £1,000 to help them put on a night they would never forget. by holding cake sales, a prom fayre evening, and a stall a the Calne Duck race.

Pupils got to enjoy a barbecue, candyfloss, popcorn, had fun in a photobooth and ended the night on a high with a disco.

Head of year 11, Ben Cave, said: "The year 11s had a wonderful night, and a well deserved one too.

"They have handled the year superbly, especially the challenging exam season.

"The students who put the evening together, in particular Lola Allen and Kayleigh Hargreaves, were fantastic, creating a memorable evening for staff and students alike.

"They put on such a great event, it's amazing to see what they came up with.

"We look forward to results day, where hopefully they are rewarded for all their efforts this year.

"Many are staying to study further in our highly successful sixth form, but for those moving on to College and Apprenticeships, we wish them the very best."
