BIRD art painted by primary school children has been admired by the town’s mayor and In Bloom organisers following a school wide competition.
Preshute school pupils in Manton were set the challenge to create bird inspired art with, children from each class winning a book token for their efforts.
Marlborough in Bloom organiser Steve Pascall said: “I am pleased that they have been part of Marlborough in Bloom and it was one of my aims to involved children in whatever we do. It is important that Marlborough In Bloom gets the community involved.
“We are not just a charity trying to raise money we want to be part of the community. I am proud of their involvement and hope to work with other local schools in the future too.”
He also thanked Tony Archer of Superior Plants for donating equipment for In Bloom and expressed his gratitude to volunteers who then planted, watered and maintained the colour troughs dotted round the town ahead of judging which took place last week.
