CARNIVAL queen Hannah Parsons has handed over cheques for £10,000 to the GWH Brighter Futures appeal and other charities following last year’s Pewsey carnival.
A ceremony to present the cash, raised through a fortnight of charity events held in Pewsey last September took place on Friday night (July 13) in Bouverie Hall.
New chairman Carol Parsons said: "The Carnival has not always been in a position to give to charity, particularly in the last few years, with rising costs. It was very encouraging to hear where our money is going to and just how much the charities rely on our support."
Long serving volunteers Dave Major and Roddy Fishlock also received awards at the ceremony.
