PINK stumps will be proudly on display in Chippenham at the weekend for the cricket club’s first ever Pink Day in aid of Against Breast Cancer, Prostate Cancer and Dorothy House.

Three seniors cricket matches will be played throughout the day on Saturday July 14 in a bid to raise as much cash as possible for their chosen charities.

Lee Ward from the club said: “It is the first time we have run such an event as a club and the first time we have themed our senior cricket matches in this way.

“We are also one of the first clubs in Wiltshire and the West to set something like this up. The idea is the club will be pink themed throughout the day including the cricket matches (against Swindon & Goatacre) with pink stumps, pads and caps.

“We want it to be a real family day so will also be running a whole host of family activities along the pink theme and will be having evening entertainment.”

Everyone is welcome to join the group at Hardenhuish Park on Bristol Road for the day of festivities and all proceeds will go to charity.
