RAIN didn’t dampen spirits as the Rotary club hosted its bank holiday car boot sale on The Common in Marlborough.

Over 80 sellers joined in on the bargain hunting spree, despite the damp and dark weather.

A food tent selling sausage rolls, bacon rolls and burgers was busy all morning with all proceeds going towards the Rotary’s charity fund which supports local and international projects.

Gerry Hooper of the Rotary Club said: In spite of the uncertain weather, this was the biggest car boot sale Rotary has run for several years, and happy booters and buyers continued enjoying the event until midday, as the mist lifted and a hint of sunshine heralded a bright afternoon.

"Marlborough & District Rotary Club would like to pay tribute to the generosity of all the people who participated in the Tombola, and those who freely gave donations to help support their charity efforts."

The total raised so far has exceed £1200 following the sale on May 28.
