A FAMILY cupcake fun day in aid of Alzheimer’s Society was a hit in Calne, with £413 raised for the charity.

Georgia Holmes, Young European International Mrs Wiltshire and Kat Dickinson of Cakes by Kat decided to raise money for the charity as they both have family members who have had and do have the disease.

Mrs Holmes said: “I wanted to do something for the Alzheimer’s Society as my Granma passed away with dementia and Kat wanted to do something as well as her Nan currently has dementia and is in a home.

“The event went really well.

“We had a teddy tombola, a guess how many sweets are in the jar, lucky dips, cupcake colouring, adults and kids tombola, glitter tattoos, guess the name of the penguin, cupcake decorating and an amazing raffle where local businesses donated vouchers and other prizes.

“People we didn’t know turned up so it was nice to see some new faces supporting our event.

“People loved the cakes and that was the best seller. Kat is very talented.”
