ROYAL celebrations were held when the Duchess of Cornwall unveiled a plaque to commemorate 100 years of the Aldbourne Women’s Institute.
The visit on May 26 involved a celebratory lunch and a tour of the group’s exhibition showing off a range of artistic skills including lace making and quilting. The display also included minutes and articles dating back to the first meeting held in the village a century ago.The group meet on the first Thursday of every month at 7.30pm in the memorial hall.
