FOUR apprentices working at The Pheasant pub in Chippenham are celebrating after achieving new qualifications.
Amanda Blackward secured her Level 2 Diploma in Licensed Hospitality Skills, Jake Moore and Callum, Stanley gained their Level 2 NVQ Diplomas in Professional Cookery and Violetta Nagy achieved her BTEC Level 2 in Hospitality and Catering Principles.
Richard Jennings, manager of the Pheasant, said “It’s great to see them progressing as apprentices with Wadworth.
“With their participation I now potentially have two head chefs and eventually my replacement. Our succession plans continue with our next Level 3 candidate poised to start her apprenticeship soon.”
One of the apprentices, Amanda Blackman, added:“I really enjoyed it, getting my teeth into it; some elements were quite challenging.
“As well as traditional hospitality skills I improved my computer literacy including how to use power point.
“It has helped me with recruitment and training new team members at the pub as well as reinforcing my financial knowledge of the business.”
The apprentices are four of 19 working under a Wadworth run pub, something which the brewery is proud to support.
