ENGLAND prop Jeff Probyn was guest of honour when Devizes Rugby Club held its 52nd annual dinner at the sports club.

Mr Probyn, who won 37 caps for his country, kept his audience enthralled as he recounted tales of his career and players he has met along the way.

He is also a founding member of The Front Row Union and president of The Wooden Spoon Club the charity of the British and Irish rugby.

Outgoing president Mark Gingham encouraged more members and players to step up to help with running the club and urged a good attendance at the Saddleback Music Festival on July 14.

It will benefit Julia's House, Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Careif and Doddy Weir's charity. Club captain Josh Gould analysed the season before awards were handed out. Will Hine took the 2ndXV prize and Toby Randall the 1st XV trophy. Coach's award went to Craig Bryant the Ray Smith trophy to Chris Barter and clubman trophy to Ross Paget.
