TENNIS fans were representing Pewsey in the Channel Islands as they took on Guernsey in a two day friendly tennis tournament.

The group of 12 players went to Jersey last year and went

to Guernsey to compete against different players over two days.

Organiser Mike Cox said: “The event was very successful despite having to admit that the Guernsey players had the edge on Pewsey, but an enjoyable time was had by all, especially on the Saturday night when the clubs dined together.”

Pewsey are now hoping the Channel Islands clubs will visit their courts in the future.

The tennis club always welcomes new members and recently welcomed eight disabled serving Army personnel who were visiting Tedworth House as part of the their rehabilitation programme with charity Help for Heroes.

The group were tutored by Pewsey tennis coaches Martin Wright and Jon Gregory as well as Ali Ward, head coach at Royal Wootton Bassett during the tennis event on May 3.
