THE doors to Chippenham Museum’s new entrance and shop have finally been opened after months of renovation works.
Visitors to the museum on the High Street will be treated to a brighter entrance and spacious shop, which stocks a greater selection of gifts and souvenirs produced by local artists and craftsmen.
The new area, which was opened on Monday, follows the development of a new exhibition area that allows the museum to borrow artefacts from larger museums all around the country.
Chippenham Museum Curator Melissa Barnett said “We see the completion of this project as a crucial step in developing our presence in the Market Place.
“We would like to thank our superb team of over 40 volunteers, without whom the project wouldn’t have been possible.
“Our entrance and retail space now fully reflects the warm and friendly welcome given by our volunteers and staff.”
The museum is open from 10am-4pm on Monday to Saturday
