DEVASTATING sight loss is being prevented by opticians who have been trained in spotting the signs of Glaucoma.
Often symptomless in its early stages, glaucoma is one of the leading causes or irreversible sight loss.Staff at Specsavers on Marlborough High Street have received training in order to diagnose more people living with the illness undiagnosed.
Paul Shimell, store director at Specsavers Marlborough, said: “Our store is such a big part of the community and it is really important to us that we can provide the very best service to our customers and support someone with the condition in the most effective way possible.”
Up to 700,000 people in the UK have Glaucoma. World Glaucoma Week fruns from March 11-18.
