For the first time the Bearded Collie Club therapy awards were held at Crufts and featured Barney who is owned by Christina Mudd of Marston, near Devizes.
She said: "Barney got a medal for being a therapy dog and came first in our class. I am so proud of my lovely boy."
Barney's award was presented to him by Britain's Got Talent winner Jules O'Dwyer who competed in the TV show with her dog Matisse. Barney has been a visitor the BUPA care home in Market Lavington.
