ELEVEN people trekked the Great Wall of China raised more than £18,000 for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
Trekkers left awe inspired by Great Wall of China, as the 11 women walked along 60km of the wall over 10 days.
Since the walk in September the China Trek Chicks have continued to raise cash totalling £18,854.04.
Nikki Field, a mother of two teenage children from Marlborough, said: “I feel honoured and fortunate to have walked along something that is so incredible.
“It wasn’t as physically hard as I thought it would be, thanks to the training, and I would have liked to have carried on. We are a bunch of people of all ages and from all walks of life and as well as supporting Wiltshire Air Ambulance, we made friends for life from it.
“Some people will probably have their lives saved because we chose to walk the Great Wall of China. Getting the sponsorship was very easy, because when people knew it was for this great charity they showed their support by donating.”
Details of another overseas challenge for Wiltshire Air Ambulance in 2019 have not yet been released but is tipped to be as adventurous as the China trek.
