Police have closed off a town centre road this morning following a suspected stabbing, while two casualties have been rushed to hospital.
Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident.
Ponting Street, off Manchester Road, has been cordoned off as a crime scene, while police forensics units are also on site.
At least one victim is believed to have been taken to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
A spokesman for Wiltshire Police confirmed that they had been called by the ambulance service at 10.38am to a report that two people had been assaulted at an address in Ponting Street.
One male had sustained an injury to his face while a second man sustained an injury to his hand. Both have been taken to hospital for treatment.
Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident and they are currently in Gablecross custody.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to call police on 101 immediately.
