BIDDESTONE will not have a better chance to win promotion than this season, according to captain Kris Boulton.

The Glos/Wilts leaders travel to Lydney on Saturday before second placed Warminster the week after. They then travel to Chippenham and entertain third place Swindon on the final day of the season.

"We probably won't have a better chance to win the league and get ourselves up, but we will not have four tougher games," said Boulton.

"If you are going to win the league you have to beat teams at the top as well as those at the bottom.

"We back each other to the hilt and it is a team effort. If we are not good enough then we are not good enough."

The derby win at home to Marshfield on Saturday has set them up for their crucial run in as Tom Needham (48no), Dwaine Perry (31) and Martin Sawyer (22) help set the visitors 172 to win.

Ben White (3-25) was the pick of the bowlers for relegation threatened Marshfield as captain James Williams took (2-18), Dave Jenkins claimed (1-22) and Wayne Pascal (1-54).

Williams, who also top scored with 36, believed his side should have claimed a crucial, and surprise, victory.

"I thought we had it won and we threw it away and they probably feel the same," he said.

"We had a little bit of luck when Clint Bowyer managed to run himself out and it was definitely a gettable score so we only have ourselves to blame.

"But we gave a good account of ourselves against one of the best sides in the league.

"It was also good to see how hard we took the defeat because I had been quite conscious of people not really trying as hard as they could have been recently."

Jamil Khalil hit 31 and Lavious Latshele scored 30 as new Wiltshire bowler Naeem Kham claimed 2-49 for Biddestone, with Dwaine Perry (2-41), Clint Bowyer (2-31) and Mark Unwin (3-29) clearing up the rest of the Marshfield batsmen.

Boulton also put his body on the line for the win, dislocating his left index finger while fielding in the slips.

Now Marshfield travel to Swindon, with Biddestone hoping they will do them a favour in the title race, and Williams wanting his team, who are eighth, to come out on top in their relegation battle.

"We genuinely believe we are better than Marlborough and Hatherley and Reddings but if they start to play better then we will have to up our game," he said.
