A man in his 90s has been injured in a road accident this afternoon outside Sainsburys in New Park Street, Devizes.
An ambulance is at the scene and the road has been closed. Motorists are advised to find a different route if possible and to use Northgate Street and the Market Place if coming from the Trowbridge direction.
A Wiltshire police spokesman said: "We were called to the scene just before 3pm. A pedestrian who is a man in his 90s has been injured and is being treated at the scene by paramedics.
"At this stage we do not thing his injuries are too serious but the road is blocked and we are asking motorists to find a different route. Traffic is building up throughout the town centre."
