A COUPLE managed to raise over £2,000 for Prospect Hospice by organising a masquerade ball in October.

Paul and Jan Drabble raised a whopping £2,050.86 when they hosted a BBQ and afternoon tea event that raised more than £500 in the summer and a masquerade ball in the autumn which raised a further £1,500.

The inspiration came from the care the Wroughton-based hospice gave to Jan’s parents, who were both patients in recent years.

Jan’s father was cared for at the hospice in Wroughton, while her mum was supported through their Prospect@Home team.

“For the care that they gave, Prospect Hospice really deserved the funds we raised,” Paul said. “It wasn’t easy to raise the money, but it was such a rewarding thing to do.”
