NIKE has signed a four year deal with Marlborough Youth Football Club as part of a partnership which will see the team supported by the sporting giant.
Expert advice and financial support will be given to the youth team by Nike and coaches will be helped to gain extra qualifications.
Marlborough has become one of just 230 clubs throughout the UK to work with Nike on the project aimed at boosting the game from grass roots.
Children playing for Marlborough will be helped to succeed in the sport for the next four years through the initiative.
Chairman Stuart Slater said: “Nike has recognised the outstanding work that MYFC do for the development of youth football in our region.
“It goes without saying we would like to thank Nike, along with Discount Football Kits, plus all our coaches, volunteers and of course players. This represents a significant step forward in our development, reflecting our growth, ethos and standing in community football. Well done MYFC!”
The youth club was formed in 2009 and now trains over 300 boys and girls at a range of destinations across Marlborough including Marlborough Common and the recreation ground on Salisbury road.
