THOUSANDS of mobile phone users in Devizes have been without a signal since Sunday.
Today Vodafone said the problem was caused by planned maintenance work.
A spokesman told the Gazette: "We’re really sorry if some of our customers have experienced issues with their coverage in the Devizes area this week. We’ve been carrying out maintenance on one of our sites in the town to help improve our mobile network coverage. The work is due to finish later today.”
People on a number of networks including Vodafone have been affected by the problem throughout the week.
Ron Moore, of Moore of Devizes heating and plumbing on the Hopton Industrial Estate, said: "It has caused huge problems for us as we are not able to receive or make any calls from our office."
People living on the Marina Meadows Estate and houses off Nursteed Road, Devizes have also been affected.
