The DRIVER of a car which crashed off the road and into a tree has escaped with minor injuries following an early morning road accident.
The black, five door car was left partially suspended after smashing into the bank of an unnamed road off the A4 at Rudge, Ramsbury.
Fire crews from Ramsbury and Marlborough rescued the male driver and worked to stabilise the car after it uprooted a tree in the early hours of yesterday morning.
The passenger door was removed in order to safely release a casualty from the car, who had suffered minor injuries.
A spokesman for Wiltshire Police said: "We were called at 3.40am on November 16 to a report of a vehicle hitting a tree in Rudge, Ramsbury. One male driver was trapped and injured. He sustained minor injuries, and recovery was arranged for the vehicle."
No arrests were made following the collision.
