SPORTS kit donated to Rushall Primary School has become a lucky charm after the netball team was victorious at its first match wearing the new strip.

Sponsors Whitehall Garden Centre pledged £200 to buy the primary school a games kit in the school colours for all Key Stage 2 children to wear.

Caroline Haywood, of the PTFA, who organised the new kit, said: “Their old kit was looking quite tired so we decided that it was time for a new smart strip.

“It was important that the kit can be used for any team, whether football, rugby or netball.

“I think it has already helped the children to feel like more of a team and they now look very smart.”

Deputy head teacher Katie Turner added: “Thanks to Whitehall Garden Centre for sponsoring our ‘stand-out’ sports strip.”

The kit was proudly worn by the netball team, who romped to victory as they played in the matching strip at the beginning of the term.

T-shirts, shorts and socks were all purchased and the school name has been proudly embroidered onto the kit.

The PTFA funded the remaining balance of the kit following the sponsorship.
