SPORTY parents and friends of Devizes Budo Club have raised thousands of pounds towards future plans for a new clubhouse.
The judo club moved earlier this year from its home of many years at the back of the old Queens Head pub in Dunkirk Hill to a temporary base at Rowdeford School.
Trustee Richard Hopkins said: "Club members are very happy in their new venue but children and parents continue the focus on fundraising with a view to the construction of a new Dojo in Devizes in the future."
Helping with the dream was Melanie Taylor who presented the club with £1,000 after taking part in the Devizes Half Marathon and tough mudder event. Allan McCann and Tim Barfoot of CMD Recruitment in Devizes raised £2,210 from a 250k bike ride.
Mr Hopkins said: "The club is very appreciative of the efforts of Melanie, Allan and Tim."
