A MUM who slapped a pub manager and then kicked a police officer "completely lost it", a court heard.

Bronwyn Davies, of Caen Hill Gardens, Devizes pleaded guilty to assault and assaulting a police officer at Salisbury magistrates' court on Friday.

Prosecuting, Nick Barr said Davies was drinking in the Silk Mercer pub in Devizes on April 28.

Just before midnight, pub manager Samantha Andrews became aware of Davies and another customer "get into a confrontation".

The other customer left and Davies remained, but Ms Andrews told staff not to serve her any more alcohol.

When the 25-year-old was later refused at the bar, Mr Barr said she "got aggressive" and told Ms Andrews: "I'm not going anywhere, you can't tell me where to go, who the f**k are you?"

Police were called, but Davies slapped Ms Andrews round the face three times and pulled her hair before bystanders intervened.

When police arrived Davies was outside the pub, and while PC Loveys was arresting her, Davies kicked the officer in the leg.

Defending, Harriet Heard said Davies' recollection of the night was "not 100 per cent" but "she spoke to her friends who said 'you were completely drunk and out of order'".

Ms Heard said Davies did not make a full admission to police as "she just would not accept that she would slap somebody or pull their hair because she would normally never do that".

She said: "It's the first time she had been out since the birth of her first child six months ago.

"She left baby with her parents to babysit and went out and unfortunately it went to her head."

Ms Heard said Davies, who suffers from anxiety, had recently had her Prozac prescription doubled.

"She completely lost it and behaved in a way that was out of character, so much so that she couldn't believe she had done it," Ms Heard said.

Magistrate Christine Smith fined Davies £40 for each assault, as well as £50 compensation to Ms Andrews.

She must also pay £45 costs and a £30 victim surcharge
