THE ANNUAL Box Rocks Festival was a huge success again this year, with crowds gathering at The Queen’s Head, Box to enjoy some live music.

Music fans turned up to the 24th Box Rocks Festival on Bank Holiday Monday to bask in the sunshine and listen to some great new music.

Crowds filtered into the event throughout the day to listen to the bands on offer, including Arcadia Roots, Rewire the Time Machine, The Louie Miller Project, and Pixi Encore.

Out of the eight bands that performed, six of them were original artists who are currently promoting their new music across the UK.

The Louie Miller Project are currently part of the UK’s biggest independent music competition, Salute Music.

Louie Miller said: “Box Rocks is a great festival for new music. You turn up to this little village on the way to Bath and get a huge stage and PA to play with.

“It was even streamed live on YouTube to all our followers across the world.”

The popular festival has raised over £35,000 over the past 24 years for local charities, including the Royal United Hospital Forever Friends Appeal.

Dean Creighton, organiser and landlord of The Queen’s Head said: “It was certainly a fantastic day out for the family who would spend their time going between the stage and the children’s play area.

“We’ve always been well supported by the community and this year saw many faces to the festival.

“The bands have been great his year, we’ve had such a mix of great new music.

“All the bands play for free to enable as much money as possible to go to the charity.

“Pixi Encore, a Bristol based band kindly donated their CD sales from the day.

“I am thoroughly looking forward to Box Rocks 25 next year and the planning has already begun to make it extra special.”
