I WAS privileged to visit the Wiltshire Army Cadet Force at their annual camp at Napier Barracks, Shorncliffe, last Thursday.
Observing field exercises being conducted for cadets of varying levels of age and experience, I was impressed by the confident demonstration of leadership, communication skills and consideration for others that was being demonstrated. Their resilience in coping with challenging weather and terrain during their expeditions was also to be admired.
As a former Air Training Corps cadet and one-time Sea Scout, I was reminded of the quality of youth development achieved by such organisations and can only commend the ACF for the quality of young people that they are producing.
