THE scaled down jazz festival this year was a resounding success, according to its organiser Nick Fogg. He said it was a marvellous show, and was the most artistically brilliant festival they have ever done.
As a resident of Marlborough, I also found it was the best festival we have had for years.
We did not have to listen to beat music constantly from Friday evening until Sunday. We did not have to close all our doors and windows to be able to hear the TV. We were not kept awake late at night with cheering and clapping.
The market and shops were open as usual. The town was quiet except for occasional sounds of lovely music coming from the town hall and the church.
As this festival was such a success and enjoyed by many people, and even enjoyed by the residents this year, please could we have this scaled down version every year?
